End of January (already!) Update

This month in preschool we have had an exciting month filled with various dinosaur activities! The children have enjoyed working together to create a paper mache dinosaur eggs, melting dinosaurs eggs which have been frozen in time, learning the makaton sign for dinosaur, reading 'Tyrannosaurus Drip' and using plastic dinosaurs to mark make with paint on paper!

For the month of January we have been focusing on the 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' story book. We have done some fruit printing and looked at what the fruit looks like once it had been cut. The children have also enjoyed exploring the ice from the cold frosty mornings, looking at the shape of the ice and what it looks like when it is broken. Some children even used the floor as an ice rink!

Our book of the month is 'Little fish goes exploring' and our song to go with this story if ' 1,2,3,4,5, once I caught a fish alive', making our animal of the month fish. We are also looking at wooden treasure baskets, exploring the variety of objects inside these treasure baskets. We have also looked at and explored the physical and sensory room. In here we have been looking at different lights and sensory objects using our senses to explore in these rooms.
