Chantelle Vela, Manager
I joined the Honeytree in March 2013 as the Graduate Leader.
I have managed the baby room during this time and have spent lots of time across the nursery supporting the 3 rooms and using my experience and knowledge to support and inspire the team. In February 2014 I qualified as an Early Years Teacher.
The best thing I love about my job is watching the children grow from a baby to a young adult learning and achieving new things every day.
I have over 9 years experience in child care, but also have my own child, Max who attended Honeytree. In my spare time I enjoy watching films and spending lots of time with my family going on day trips or holidays to Albania as my Husband is Albanian. I enjoy learning the different language and culture.

Lucy Ingram, Graduate Leader
I started at Honeytree in Portishead as a Nursery Practitioner October 2007.
Since then I have studied and gained a BA(Hons) in Early Years Education in 2015.
The knowledge I gained has been so valuable in my career, allowing me to become a Graduate Leader for the Baby Room and Busy Bees Room.
I really enjoy spending time with the children and watching them learn, grow and become individuals. I also support staff members to develop upon their practice as well. In my spare time, I enjoy reading novels and spending time with my family.
Gemma Bagg, Graduate Leader
I started working at Honeytree in Portishead as Graduate Leader for the Preschool Room September 2016.
I have been working in childcare for 12 years and qualified as a Primary School Teacher in 2012.
I decided to return to Early Years as I enjoy the curious nature of children in Early Years. I love the inquisitive behaviours of children as they learn about the world around them.
Outside of work I enjoy swimming, cooking and socialising with friends. I also enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures.
Lizzie Stevens, Room Manager
Hello, my name is Lizzie and I started at Honeytree in February 2016.
I am based in the baby room and work as the Room Manager. I really enjoy working with our amazing babies.
I have gained a level 3 in childcare and hope to progress in my job at Honeytree and then eventually go to university to better my qualifications, doing my Foundation Degree in Early Years.
I really love visiting Cornwall and watching Disney movies in my spare time.
Bessie Williams, Room Manager
I started working at the Weston Honeytree in August 2011 where I began my Level 2 and 3 Apprenticeship in Childcare and Early years.
I have worked across all age groups in the setting and love watching how differently the children learn and develop.
In January 2015, I was offered the Room Manager position in the Busy Bees room, here at Portishead which was a great opportunity for me. I love working with the 2-3’s as, at this age, they start to show more of their own personalities and will start to play along with other children and develop friendships.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends and taking my nieces and nephews to the beach and the park. This year I will be doing my Early Year’s degree where I look forward to furthering my career and developing my own knowledge.
Lauren Davidson, Early Years Practitioner
Hello my name is Lauren and I started working at Honeytree in September 2016.
I am based in the Baby room which is amazing and I really enjoy helping the babies learn and develop. I have my level 2 and 3 in childcare and I am hoping to one day go back to University and further my education.
In my spare time I like to get involved in something creative and spend time with my wonderful family.
Kate Robbins, Early Years Practitioner
I started working at the Honeytree in the Pre-school room in June 2016.
I am level 3 qualified in Childcare. I have always wanted to work with children and once I had done my qualification, I went straight into nursery work.
I often look after my younger family members and I enjoy spending time with them and taking them out on day trips. I am due to get married in 2019 so I am very excited about this and all the planning I am doing up to this date.
I love to explore new places so in my free time I like to go to go to different parts of the English country side.
Danielle Webb, Early Years Practitioner
I work as a Nursery Practitioner in the baby room. I studied my level 3 childcare course at Weston College.
I wanted to get into childcare as I have a big family and have always looked after my nieces and nephews. In my spare time I like to go for drives to new places and spend time with my family and friends.
I would like to travel the world and visit new countries. At the weekends I like to spend time with boyfriend and play PlayStation, go shopping in Bristol, or take my dog for walks through the country side.
Maria Inieista, Early Years Practitioner
Hello! My name is Maria and I come from Spain where I studied my degree in Early Childhood Education.
I moved to Portishead in 2014 and I love it! Since I was a child I always wanted to work with children and help them to discover and explore the world around them and I am very happy that working at Honeytree allows me to make my dream come true.
In my free time I love reading, cooking, colouring, going for long walks and catching up with friends.
Kirsty Aldwinkle, Early Years Practitioner
I started working at Honeytree in Portishead in the Busy Bees room September 2016.
I studied for a BTEC level 3 qualification and have been qualified for over 4 years.
I also volunteer as a children’s worker for my local church, I have been doing this for the past 14 years and it means a lot to me, whilst there I have supported children from 0-16 years of age. In the future I would like to expand on my experience and become a Room Manager and eventually a Manager or owner of a Nursery of my own.
Outside of work I like to meet up with my friends, go shopping, out for lunch and also to the theatre.
Ella Sampson, Early Years Practitioner
I started working at the Honeytree in Portishead in the Baby Room February 2015 as an Apprentice.
I really enjoyed the success of watching the babies grow and develop their unique personalities and go from crawling to walking. It is amazing to see.
I qualified as a level 3 practitioner and began working in the Busy Bees room in July 2016 where I could broaden my experience and skills to support children between 2 and 3 years of age, this has been a great challenge which I love. In the future I would like to increase my Knowledge and qualifications by starting a university course whilst I work.
I have enjoyed looking after children for a long time, always helping out with younger family members. I also love spending time with my dog, taking him for long walks on the beach.
Chelsea Cleverley, Early Years Practitioner
I started working at the Honeytree in Portishead in the Busy Bees room June 2016, I have been working with children for 4 years and am enjoying the reward of watching their achievements.
In the future I would like to work as a play specialist, in either the social care sector or as part of nursing teams in hospitals.
In my spare time I enjoy being around my family, my family mean a lot to me. I have a younger sibling who has a disability and I love being able to support my family with this and be a great role model. I am a very, very proud big sister.
Lorraine Ekechukwu, Room Manager
My Name is Lorraine; I work as Room Manager for the Pre-school. I have been working in Early Years for 12 years now.
I really enjoy seeing all the children achieving new learning goals and helping them with their progression. I find it a big achievement seeing the children have fun and enjoying/learning exciting new things that I have taught them. I would like to go on to do my Early Years Degree soon. Outside of work I like to socialise with my family and friends. I enjoy going to the cinema, taking nice long walks and I enjoy spending time with my nephew.
Beth Kraushaar, Early Years Practitioner
I started working at the Honeytree in the Pre-school room in March 2016.
I went to Greenwich University, there I studied Health and social care (Early years) and I got my foundation degree.
In the future I would love to study paediatric nursing this has always been an interest of mine. I regularly look after my cousins who are 9 and 3 years old. I enjoy going on holiday and I would love to move to Australia.
I really enjoy watching the children learn and develop their own personalities and it makes me happy to be a part of this.
Emma Fowler, Early Years Practitioner
I started working at Honeytree in Portishead September 2016 after graduating from University with a BA(Hons) in Early Years Education.
I have always wanted to work with children and have volunteered for many years in various clubs.
I love going on holidays and exploring new countries and at some point in my life would like to travel more and see and experience a variety of cultures in different countries.
Emma Hassell, Apprentice
Hi I am Emma, I work as an apprentice in the Preschool room, I started working at Honeytree in October 2016 and am really enjoying it.
I am studying for my level 2 and then my level 3 in childcare at Weston college and hope to gain the necessary qualifications to continue developing my career in Early Years.
Outside of work I enjoy watching football with friends and family and enjoy taking my dogs for walks around the Marine and Lake Grounds.
Kelly Baldwin, Finance Manager
I have worked at the Honeytree for 3 years, 18 months in our Bristol nursery and have been here since February 2015.
I have been volunteering at the Honeytree since I was 13, coming in to play and read to the children in the summer holidays. I have lived all over the world including Germany, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Australia and Russia and I have learnt so much through these experiences.
I love doing the administration in the nursery and enjoy going into the rooms and seeing the children as well. I completed an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration in early 2016 and am now starting an AAT course in Accountancy, which I am very excited about.
Casey Hill, Nursery Chef
My name is Casey I have worked at Honeytree as the nursery chef since January 2015.
I went to City of Bristol College where I gained my level 2 in catering. At the moment I am working towards my level 3 in catering. I enjoy being able to offer healthy nutritional food to all of the children in this busy nursery.
Jade Hill, Early Years Practitioner
I work in the Tiny Tots room as an Early Years Practitioner. I started working at Honeytree in January 2017.
I have worked in early years for 9 years working with all different age groups. I have also worked as an Ofsted registered home childcare worker, working with the children in their homes. I completed my NVQ level 2 in July 2011 and am currently working towards my level 3. I love working in the Tiny Tots room, watching the children grow and develop and seeing their personalities grow. I love spending my spare time going on day trips with my family, baking cakes and taking my two pugs for walks.
Fran Tute, Nursery Practitioner
My name is Fran, I started working at the Honeytree in February 2017.
I am lev 3 qualified in Early Years and have over 3 years experience working within Early Years settings. I have worked in Baby and Toddler rooms but have spent the majority working with Pre-School. I enjoy working in Pre-School watching children grow and develop. In the future I would like to increase my knowledge and experience by becoming a Teaching Assistant. In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family.
Jacqueline (Jackie) Jackson, Domestic
I have been coming to the nursery with my daughter for many years, dropping my grandchildren off at the nursery.When I saw that they were advertising for a Domestic I jumped at the chance to join the team. I work closely with Casey to deliver all of the meals to the children of Honeytree, I help with some cooking and cleaning in the kitchen and also help out with cleaning around the nursery in the afternoon.
